APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
AUI-S welcomes all qualified students regardless of their race, religion, age,
ethnicity, national origin or gender. Students are admitted into AUI-S based
upon on the record of their past academic performance and the potential they
demonstrate for success. AUI-S is a highly selective admissions university that
requires the highest standards of integrity from its students, as well as
exceptional commitment towards academic, personal and professional development.
Students who violate the AUI-S expectations for honesty and good conduct in
their application for admission and/or their future study and behavior will be
subject to dismissal from the University. AUI-S faculty and staff serve to help
facilitate the student’s ownership of his/her learning. As such, AUI-S only
admits students who are self-motivated and who have demonstrated the capacity to
engage in self-directed learning and the high levels of critical thinking that
are an essential part of the AUI-S philosophy of developing life-long learners.

Tuition Deposit
A tuition (non-refundable) deposit of $200, which is fully applied toward the
first semester’s tuition, is required within seven (7) days of acceptance of
admission.
Payment Plans
AUI-S offers two options. All payments are due by 4:00 PM on the
designated day.
Payment Plan 1- One Time Payment Plan
Under this payment option, students pay the full $5,000 tuition and fees in cash
at the Finance Office or by bank transfer via written authorization. In this
case, 100% of tuition and fees for the Fall Semester is due by October 9th.
Spring Semester tuition is due February 4th. A student not physically present in
Iraq, but who wishes to pay by bank transfer will be required to fill in an
authorization form provided by the Finance Department.
Payment Plan 2- AUI-S Sequenced Payment Plan
This plan is designed to make it easier for students to complete their tuition
payments over time. The University provides the following payment schedule for
students enrolling for the 2007-2008 academic year:
Fall ’08 Semester Payment Schedule
Date Due Amount
Tuesday, October 07, 2008 $2,000 + $100 processing fee
Monday, November 03, 2008 $1,500 + $100 processing fee
Wednesday, December 03, 2008 $1,500 + $100 processing fee
Spring ‘09 Semester Payment Schedule
Date Due Amount
Tuesday, March 03, 2009 $2,000 + $100 processing fee
Sunday, April 05, 2009 $1,500 + $100 processing fee
Sunday, May 03, 2009 $1,500 + $100 processing fee
Because of the added costs of handling multiple payments, there is a
(non-refundable) $100 processing fee when the student pays in three payments as
opposed to one full payment by October 9th. There is no sequenced payment plan
for the Summer Term. Tuition for the Summer of 2008 is due on Sunday, June 8th.
Please note that the payment plans may be subject to change.
Refunds are governed by the following regulations and will be processed
within 30 days of request.
In the event that a student withdraws or is dismissed from all classes during
the Fall and Spring Semesters, refunds of Tuition will be calculated according
to the following schedule:
Schedule Refund
During the first week (Add/Drop week) 100%*
During the second week 75%
During the third week 50%
After third week 0%
* 100% for new students with the exception of the $200 tuition deposit, which is
non-refundable. All Fees are also non-refundable.
The above table does not apply to the Summer Term. Students will receive a full
refund if they withdraw during the first week of classes (the add/drop week).
Afterwards they shall receive no refund.
Outstanding Balances
A student cannot register for classes until all outstanding balances are
cleared. Payments will be credited toward outstanding balances before being
applied to current registration charges. Transcripts, grades, diplomas and
