Finance Director
Job Purpose
To provide strategic leadership in financial services and fiscal planning and management in the support of the University's core mission and objectives.
Job Objectives
Development and implementation of the fiscal and financial strategies, policies, procedures and service standards in accordance to the institution’s core mission and objectives.
Oversight of the operation of the finance functions.
Development of the reporting standards established by internal and external accountability bodies concerning AUI-S financial services.
Develop an effective finance information system.
Oversight of the design, implementation, and support of financial systems and related policies and processes needed to identify and manage the revenue and expenditures of the organization and its various components.
Development and implementation of the financial models that support the overall strategic and programmatic objectives of the organization.
Directs development, maintenance, and execution of fiscal policies, accounting, and internal financial controls of the organization.
Development of annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses.
Effective and efficient management of the Finance Department.
Essential Job Specifications
Baccalaureate degree in Finance from an internationally accredited institute.
Financial certification (CPA, CA, ACCA) or equivalent.
At least 10 years experience in financial accounting; with five years in a similar leadership role in higher education industry.
Proven skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
In-depth knowledge of financial planning, general accounting, and budget management principles and practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, team building, people management, conflict management, analytical, problem solving and motivational skills.
Proven skills in strategic planning, project and budget management, and resource management.
PC literate with strong working knowledge of MS Office and financial information systems.
Scholarly command in English language.
